We are incredibly excited to have Tony Coton and Howard Gayle in store with us for the evening discuss their books with Tim Arstall of Brum Radio.

Tony Coton: Rejected by Wolverhampton Wanderers and Aston Villa as a teenager, Coton became a professional footballer the hard way, grafting as an amateur footballer before getting his big break with Birmingham City, the club he supported as a boy. A reputation as a fine young goalkeeper followed. Coton was to become widely regarded as the best goalkeeper to never play for England.

From non-league to the top of the Premier League; from the Birmingham Six to a model professional, Coton has done it all.

Howard Gayle: In April 1981, Howard Gayle was summoned from the substitutes' bench and sent on to play for Liverpool in the second leg of a European Cup semi-final at German champions Bayern Munich. The previous October, by filling the same role at Manchester City, he became the first black footballer in Liverpool's 89-year history to play at first team level.

He is remembered as a trailblazer. Gayle takes you inside his life: bringing the shutters down on a childhood spent between Toxteth and Norris Green, two contrasting areas of Liverpool. He details life on the streets, the racism, the other forms of abuse, of which he has only told a handful of people before, and his ascent from teenage football hooligan to a player with Europe's leading club.

Former team mates at Birmingham City and part of the infamous Birmingham 6, Howard and Tony will be joining us to discuss their lives in football.

Tim Arstall, our host for the evening, will be interviewing these two football legends. There will also be time for a Q&A and for books to be signed.
