&lt;p&gt;Three vocal and two accompaniment awards are granted within this prize, where students must demonstrate imaginative and well balanced programming as well as an outstanding performance.&lt;/p&gt;

Featuring Mussorgsky’s Night on Bald Mountain, Schubert’s Die Fledermaus and Tcahakovsky’s Romeo and Juliet alongside Proms favourites – Pomp and Circumstance March No.4, Rule Britannia, Fantasia on Sea Song and, of course, Jerusalem. The BGSO is one of only two LGBT orchestras in the UK, and one of only a handful around the world. &lt;/p&gt;

  <title>Bach Mass in B minor , 15 Jun 2012</title>
  <description>&lt;h3&gt;15 Jun 2012 - &lt;a href="http://livebrum.co.uk/genres/2"&gt;Classical&lt;/a&gt; at &lt;a href="http://livebrum.co.uk/venues/58"&gt;Birmingham Conservatoire&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/h3&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The Conservatoire’s Chorus and Repertoire Orchestra perform Bach&amp;#39;s monumental masterpiece The Mass in B minor.   To take part in a performance of this work is an undertaking that people subsequently recognise as one of the life changing experiences in music making. This performance will be sung by the Chorus which consists predominantly of 1st year students.  It will be conducted by Paul Spicer, the distinguished conductor of our Chamber Choir and director of the Birmingham Bach Choir as well as several other choirs.  The soloists will come from the Conservatoire Vocal Department.&lt;/p&gt;
