Touchwood Supports Purple Tuesday FREE
On Tuesday 13th November, Touchwood will participate in Purple Tuesday, a nationwide campaign to recognise the importance and needs of disabled customers.
The centre will adopt a purple theme for the day and is supporting the event by asking all guests to share their ideas on how to improve the shopping experience for guests with disabilities. A dedicated suggestion box is being placed on the Information Desk to enable guests to have their say on improvements that can be made.
Touchwood currently provides a number of accessible facilities including its Shopmobility service offering the hire of scooters and wheelchairs free of charge. By inviting further suggestions, the aim is to discover what more can be done.
Lucy Burnett, Marketing Manager at Touchwood, comments: “Guest experience and ease of access is hugely important to us at Touchwood and that’s why we are fully behind the Purple Tuesday campaign. We want to be open for everyone and can we take further steps towards a fully accessible shopping experience which is enjoyable for all.”
Purple Tuesday is co-ordinated by disability organisation Purple, with the endorsement of the Department for Work and Pensions. Coinciding with the run up to the peak Christmas shopping period, retailers up and down the country are encouraged to go purple for the day and spread the word, whilst also implementing longer term strategies such as training and accessibility audits.
