YONEX All England Open Badminton Championships

With shuttlecock speeds reaching over 400kph, fans and novices to the game alike are invited to witness the world’s fastest racquet sport and see the greatest players from across the globe battle it out to become champion, as the 110th YONEX All England Open Badminton Championships return to Birmingham from 11th to 15th March 2020.

Fans will be able to cheer on some of the best home-grown talent, with double Commonwealth and European Champions Gabby and Chris Adcock, in action alongside Marcus Ellis, Chris Langridge, Lauren Smith and Chloe Birch from the England Squad. This year is set to provide even more excitement and drama as players bid to bag the last qualifying spots for this summer’s Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

On the last day of the tournament, Sunday 15th March, spectators will have the chance to witness some of the legends of the sport ahead of the Championship final at a special YONEX Legends Vision event, a must-see for all badminton fans.

World Championship mixed doubles medallist, Gabby Adcock, who competes alongside her husband, Chris, commented: “Competing at the YONEX All England Championships is always at the top of my list when it comes to the highlights of my year. With the amazing history of the event as well as the fantastic support we get when walking out to our home crowd, each year is always as special as the last and never fails to give me those goosebumps moments!

“From a really young age when I used to come and watch the world’s best players competing for one of the most prestigious titles, to now when the YONEX All England is just weeks away, the excitement is and always will be there. I can’t wait for the 2020 edition.”
