Birmingham’s TAPS Beer Festival Set to Flow Again
Return of popular TAPS Fest
Friday, March 29 and Saturday, March 30, 2019
An exclusive two day food, beer and music festival which attracted over 2,000 people in the summer is to return in Spring to Birmingham due to popular demand.
TAPS poured together some of the finest UK street food with a mix of independent food and cider brands alongside two of the music industries biggest names in September, and proved so popular organisers have already started planning their next festival for March 2019.
The event, held at the recently refurbished Custard Factory Hall, will once again be bringing together the award-winning street food operators Digbeth Dining Club alongside the UK’s biggest craft beer festival, Craft Beer Rising from Brick Lane in London.
Organisers are planning on making TAPS bigger and better than before, with more variety of independent beer and cider from around the UK, along with a selection of wines and spirits, and some of the best and most varied street food on offer.
Bobby Barnes, co-founder of TAPS said they had been astounded by the success of the first event earlier this year, and already Super Early Bird tickets were getting snapped up.
“We only released the tickets a few days ago and it felt like we blinked and they were almost gone - which shows us there is most certainly a taste for TAPS in the city. Starting a new event can sometimes be a challenge as you are never quite sure how well they will go down, however we knew by teaming up pioneers in both the street food & craft beer world.
“The city is always looking for newness, good food and fine beers, and so we will be making sure that the event in March is at the top of its game, and the music will also be something to fill your diary for,” he added.
Jack Brabant, Director of Digbeth Dining Club said many of their food traders were already asking to be a part of TAPS.
“We worked hard to make sure the first event would be a success, and our second one will be even better. Being able to team with Craft Beer Rising again is also a pleasure and we cannot wait to see what they will be bringing along to compliment our tasty food,” he said.
Earlier this year, DDC celebrated its six years dominating the street food scene with an outside ‘head-to-head’ battle with London based street food pioneers: KERB.
The full line of of food and drink on offer at TAPS will be revealed closer to the time.
TAPS runs across three sessions: Friday - 6pm until 12pm. Saturday - noon until 5pm and 6pm until 12pm.
Tickets cost between £7 and £10 and will include a free TAPS-branded glass, and can be bought at Design My Night.
