Permission to Perform Final Performance
Permission to Perform, development opportunity for disabled artists, culminates in the final performance on Wednesday 19th July 2017 at 7pm at The Blue Orange Theatre.
All performers have been under the artistic guidance of author, artist, musician, as well as 9 times paralympic gold medallist, Robin Surgeoner.
As the lifestyles, structures and day-to-day challenges of young disabled people rarely permit free artistic expression, this initiative, funded by Birmingham City Council, sought to provide that opportunity specifically for such budding young artists, giving them that platform of expression and helping to identify the artists of the future.
As well as original rock and pop songs, the final performance includes Spoken Word, Devised Theatre and a Q & A session with young children asking participants about disability and how it affects one's daily life.
