Members of Birmingham UNA are having a book discussion meeting followed by a reception on Tuesday, 10th July, 2012.

Author Vijay Mehta, Chair of Uniting for Peace, is giving a talk on his book on Tuesday, 10th July evening meeting at The Dickens Conference Hall, The Birmingham and Midland Institute, Margaret Street, Birmingham.

The Economics of Killing – How the West Fuels War and Poverty in the Developing World published by Pluto Press, describes how the Military Industrial Complex works, its links with the global financial crisis and “the role Western governments play in perpetuating conflict”. The meeting starts 6:30pm followed by a Q/A session and a reception till 9:00pm
