Birmingham Heritage: Beeches Conference Centre FREE
The Beeches is a beautiful historic property. On Bournville Heritage Open Day, there will be children’s activities, games and cakes sales as well as an opportunity to view our fascinating history, with displays throughout.
On our 5 acres of landscaped grounds enjoy a fun game of giant connect 4 or giant Jenga. Pool table and Darts board available. Enjoy a cake sale and decorate your own cookies.
All this whilst you explore the history of our beautiful building which was formerly The Beeches College. A residential college for men and women who intend to make careers in the grocery and confectionary trade. Wander around each of our Conference Rooms where you can view a different segment of our Buildings History all displayed on our walls and presented through powerpoint. See how The Beeches played a part in the larger Bournville. Between the 1920s and 1940s the Beeches underwent several different uses, including a temporary hospital for First World War soldiers, a training centre for social workers operating in the city, and a girls’ school house.
