From 1885 onwards, American artists such as John Singer Sargent, John Leslie Beck and Theodore Robinson worked alongside Monet at Giverny.
This lecture by Dr Frances Fowle, Senior Curator at the Scottish National Gallery and Reader in History of Art at the University of Edinburgh, will reveal that even the few who were granted access to Monet’s inner circle developed a style of painting that was quite distinct from mainstream Impressionism.
