After Moscow and St Petersburg, Novosibirsk is Russia’s third most populous city. Led with enviable energy by Thomas Sanderling, the Russian Philharmonic of Novosibirsk, Siberia’s cultural gem, comes to Birmingham for the first time.

Mussorgsky’s vivid musical pictures, brought to life in Ravel’s celebrated orchestrations, will take you on a promenade through an imaginary art gallery, from Parisian Catacombs, to a hut on hen’s legs, finally arriving with the joyous pealing carillons of the Great Gate of Kiev. British violinist Alexander Sitkovetsky returns to Birmingham for Prokofiev’s dazzling Second Violin Concerto.
