Evita, the story of ambitious, charismatic Eva Duarte, opens in a Buenos Aires cinema when suddenly the death is announced of Eva Peron, nee Duarte, and affectionately known by the people of Argentina as “Evita”

Eva Peron used her brains and charisma to rise meteorically from the slums of Argentina to the presidential mansion First Lady. Adored by her people as a champion for the poor, she became one of the most powerful women in the world – whilst her greed, outsized ambition and fragile health made her one of the most tragic.

Evita tells the Eva’s passionate and unforgettable true story, featuring some of theatre’s most beautiful songs such as “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina”, “Another Suitcase in Another Hall”, “High Flying Adored” and “You Must Love Me.” The original London production opened in June 1978 and enjoyed a run of over 8 years, 2900 performances and, after over 40 years, Evita continues to enthral audiences worldwide!
