The Cadbury factory women in Birmingham made a phenomenal contribution to the war effort on the Home Front, parcelling gifts (‘Comforts’) of chocolate and knitting for the servicemen abroad, as well as working voluntarily in the local auxiliary hospitals.

Join Fiona Joseph for this talk in which she shares her research into the Bournville Archives and celebrates the inspiring stories of women whose guts, spirit and compassion found expression in practical action. She will also explore the changing role of women in the workplace.
