Orpheus in the Underworld

Offenbach's naughty French romp through Greek Mythology, with the famous Can-Can

Orpheus and Eurydice find themselves trapped in a dull marriage, so are both 'playing away'! Unfortunately the object of Eurydice's affections turns out to be none other than Pluto, the 'Devil in Disguise', so when she gets carried off to the Underworld, Jupiter, the King of the Gods, gets jealous and wants her for himself.

Eurydice meanwhile finds that life in the Underworld is more Hell than Heaven, so when Orpheus is forced to try and get her back, events take an interesting 'turn' !
