A collaboration between MDCC Theatre and Rambling Heart, The Stories That Shakespeare Knew brings together performance storytelling and theatre to create a piece exploring the traditional tales referenced in Shakespeare's plays.
Who was 'the baker's daughter' mentioned by a crazed Ophelia in Hamlet? Who was Child Rowland who, in King Lear, 'to the dark tower came'?
Written and directed by Polly Tisdall, Young Storyteller of the Year 2011, as part of the RSC Open Stages, The Stories That Shakespeare Knew comes to mac before appearing at the RSC's Regional Showcase in Stratford later this year.
Working in association with Send A Book To Mali, we invite audiences to bring a book to this event. Your book will first become a part of the set before being donated to school libraries in Mali, West Africa. Bringing a book is voluntary. Children's books preferred.
