Respek Vanley Burke FREE

In celebration of mac birmingham's 50th anniversary, and as part of Bass Festival 2012, Punch Records present Respek Vanley Burke.

Since the sixties, Vanley Burke has created one of the most important photographic records of Black Britain. Working with young people and children from Holyhead and St. James schools in Handsworth, musician Bobby Gardner will create a musical set inspired by Vanley Burke’s photographic documentation of Africa Liberation Day in 1977.

The resulting work will feature in a one off performance that combines reggae and classical musicians, including inspiring lyrics created by children.
