Gurdan Thomas, feel good, danceable, and also stationary-listenable music with a deceiving simplicity that on first hearing camouflages its complexity and unusual song writing in a genre that is all their own.
This 5-piece likeable yet chaotic band performs songs woven around quirky texts and subjects, arrangements inventively painted across their own unconformist musical landscape with the tone-colours of the human voice, charango, accordion, ukulele, guitar, Helikon (Tuba), cornet (Trumpet), piano and other percussion.
Sometimes a little crazy and with their Zappaesque attitude, always inventive, often bursting with their unfeigned, unfettered high energy acoustic driven ball of sound and at times vunerable and heart-breakingly fragile in quieter moments, sometimes simply drawing listeners into their infectious rhythm infested dance but always remaining ‘Gurdan Thomas’.
