We tend to take our feelings very seriously. We view our feelings as very solid and can feel overwhelmed by them. This causes us to avoid situations and things that we think might make us feel bad and cling to things we think make us feel good. As a result, we are often limited by our fear of painful feelings and our attachment to feeling good.
