A fundraiser to celebrate the marvelous summer we have had, with something for everyone.
Highbury Orchard Community in conjunction with Four Seasons Garden Project is hosting A Highbury Harvest with this year’s pickings of apples. A press and scatter means children and adults alike for a small fee can have a turn at making apple juice! So get picking and bring your own apples to press and a sterilised bottles, and take your pressed harvest home. (See important details on peopleandland.org.uk/events.)
Using many of the parks curious corners, adults and children can enjoy meeting community beekeepers and their buzzing friends, buy local honey products, be judges in the annual honey cake bake off, get creative with woodland play activities, find foraging advice on a walk and explore the heritage site through orienteering and get creative with a host of workshops run by a community group.
Refreshments will be on offer to buy at Four Seasons and the Orchard, including using our new cob oven to rustle up tasty treats and The Junk Food project will be creating a tasty menu. Local community groups will be on hand to discuss topics including, arts wildlife protection, Highbury heritage, dog psychology and more..
