Tales Between the Ales presents a different take on St George’s Day at The Gunmakers Arms.
Bring along your myths and legends from Halesowen to Hanoi, Gosta Green to Galway or from Kings Heath to Kingston.
A new quarterly night of poetry, performance and storytelling is starting in April at The Gunmakers Arms, called Tales Between the Ales. We are happy to announce that poets and storytellers from Darren Cannan’s January poetry night will be involved.
This is the inaugural Tales Between the Ales night and it’ll be a St George’s Day with a difference. It will be an opportunity to explore and celebrate the international folklore that can be often traced to the formation of national ideals and patrons. The myth and legend behind St George apparently came from far beyond England’s green and pleasant lands. Some legends identify him as a Turkish soldier who fought dragons in the Middle East. So bring along your myths and legends from Halesowen to Hanoi, Gosta Green to Galway, or from Kings Heath to Kingston. Let’s share and celebrate what binds us together and slay those things that divides us.
This is a free event although booking is advised.
The event will be held in the brewery. Please note it may be cold as the temperature needs to be controlled in the brewery.
