Ideas & Beers, 31 May 2013

31 May 2013 at The Malt House

FREE

Discuss your Ideas & Drink some Beers (or soft drinks)
"Ideas & Beers" and it's alternating monthly partner event "Beers & Ideas" will be freely* held in some of the fine public houses & bars of Birmingham city centre to bring people together to discuss ideas over some creative fluid.
"Ideas & Beers" will concentrate on the ideas first, and will be purposeful.
"Beers & Ideas" will concentrate on the beers first, and thus be more social.

VENUE:
The Venue** will always be a Birmingham city centre pub/bar within a 1.5 mile radius of New Street Station.
The venue for this first event will be at The Malt House, which sits on the banks of the canal between the NIA and the ICC.
It has one of the best sunshine facing balconies in Brum, and was famously visited by Bill Clinton (a long time ago).

FORMAT / IDEAS:
This event is 80% about the ideas, and 20% about the beers.
Apart from that rule, it has probably has less structure than an 'unconference'.
Simply sit round a big table with attendees and talk about whatever ideas are on your mind, or perhaps just listen to other peoples.
Maybe new ideas will emerge?
Nobody is going to steal your ideas (research has been done on this).
You're very likely to get valuable feedback, or perhaps find somebody to collaborate with. Sometimes the most valuable thing is knowing when to clear your brain and forget about an idea. This event will help.

HAVE QUESTIONS?:
To ask any questions about this event please send a tweet to @ukgav and if you don't have twitter, please sign up to twitter. It really helps conversations before and after events.
* The beer is not free (we might seek sponsorship in future).
**There is a strict policy that Venues must have Wi-Fi available, enough room for all attendees & big tables that are not sticky!
