IMPORTANT: There are some Sundays during the year when there is no ramble.

In May and June we are walking in Shrawley Woods (Worcestershire), Lingen (Herefordshire), Mamble (Worcestershire), Ashbourne (Derbyshire), The Roaches (Staffordshire) and Rutland Round.

There is a charge (currently £10) for the journey out and back, payable on the coach.

The departure time is usually 9am (though this may vary), and people are usually gathering at the coach stop from 8am onwards. We are usually back in Birmingham by early evening. Please consult the published programme for actual departure times.

In the event of an over-spill, members' cars can sometimes be used in addition to the coach, although since this can only be arranged on the day, latecomers may have to be left behind in such circumstances, so please arrive in good time. Seats on the coach cannot be pre-booked except on special occasions.

Suitable clothing and foot-wear are essential. Members and guests should bring food and drink for the whole day and a change of foot-wear for the return coach journey. Lunch-time pub-stops are usual, but not guaranteed.

Walks are roughly graded A,B or C as follows:
A - 12 miles or more at a good pace with little emphasis on tea/coffee breaks etc
B - 10 miles (on average) at a steady pace, with more emphasis on breaks and "pauses to admire the view".
C - about 7 miles, walked at an easy pace with plenty of time to "admire the view".

Each Sunday ramble usually contains the option of an "A" walk or a "B" walk, although not always a "C" walk. Again see the published programme for particulars

All data copyright livebrum.co.uk. For the last 8 years it has been hosted and organised by students at the University of Birmingham. All of our proceeds go directly to charity. This year the Vale Festival is showcasing a plethora of music for the mind to fundraise for Students Against Depression and Young Minds.

After consulting the oracle, we were advised to place four huge stacks of speakers into the all-new Beats Around the Bush arena: creating a surround sound of bass to blow your mind.

However, if you’re not a bass junkie, then you will still be more than spoilt for choice! You will be treated to sweet melodies and gentle acoustics from a range of solo and group acts down at the Lakeside tent. Then, when you’re feeling a bit more adventurous, you can wander over to the Forest Edge, where you can skank to reggae, ska, and all round wicked tunes. It will be filled to the brim with amazing beats that will definitely get you jumping.

Not only will there be all of this, but our huge main stage will be hosting a magnificent range of big-bands and acts to keep you captivated all day. Now, The Vale Festival committee will not be satisfied until we have totally taken over and entertained you for every minute of our 14-hour festival extravaganza! There will also be theatre shows, films, workshops, comedy acts and much, much more to get involved in.

Not only do you get 10 and a half hours of fun, frills and frolicking in the sun to the best of the Midlands talent; Hot Club De Swing and Jam Tidy will be hosting our epic after-party in Bar One for those who want to keep dancing into the night.

https://www.facebook.com/valefestival

x
All data copyright livebrum.co.uk.
