Are you looking or something fun and exciting for the children to do during half term? We have the solution!

We know its a bit chilly at times during February so our 90 minute sessions are ideal to stop that freeze up or for the hardy you can book as many sessions as you like! We are offering a great selection of activities Rowing, SUP and kayaking all based out of Birmingham Rowing Club on Edgbaston Reservoir.

Paddlepower Kayaking A great chance for young people to get introduced to the sport of kayaking, this course follows the British Canoeing PaddlePower scheme which is progressive and leads the young people on a structured development curve. This session is mixed ability and we will sign off logbooks as appropriate.

Stand Up Paddleboarding This session is aimed at those with little or no experience of the sport previously. This low impact activity is a great way to build water confidence and learn new skills.

Rowing (11 years plus) This session is aimed at those with little or no experience of the sport previously. Rowing with our specially designed boats with stability outriggers is easy to pick up and a great way to get fit!

City Tours Our city tours tour embrace the vast network of canals at Birmingham’s heart. These trips take in sights such as the Sealife Centre, Arena Birmingham, Brindley Place and Gas Street basin. Although we do talk about the rich history of the canals and areas we paddle through this is a true urban exploration trip and we will find some great unexplored areas of canal. The trip will stop for lunch (not supplied) at the foot of the mailbox where we have access to hand washing and toilet facilities.

What You Need to Know! These sessions are run by fully qualified staff that are trained and assessed by the National Governing bodies, all staff have full DBS clearance. If the young people are staying for both sessions in a day they will be supervised at lunch time.

Everyone will need to bring warm clothes and a towel, for each session they will need footwear that can wet also. We will provide wetsuits for kayaking and stand up paddleboarding but if you have your own please bring it.

If the weather is very poor we won’t cancel; we’ll just look at what we can run with the conditions we have – it may be we do indoor rowing and kayaking if the weather is bad.
