Nick Thurston is a writer and editor who makes artworks. Hear him discuss his practice and explore wider themes of contemporary making within the context of Production Show.

Nick will talk through lots of projects he’s been involved with as an artist or editor which explore the idea that our traditional distinctions between production and reproduction may no longer be adequate for describing some of the more extreme fronts of contemporary culture, particularly those that collapse easy distinctions between writing and publishing.

Nick Thurston is a writer and editor who makes artworks. In 2016 his guest-edited issue of the Amodern (Montreal & Thunder Bay) was published, a second edition of his most recent book of poetry was released by Coach House Books (Toronto), and his exhibitions included ‘The Economy is Spinning’ at Onomatopee (Eindhoven), ‘Reading Matters’ at Printed Matter, Inc (New York) and ‘Reading as Art’ at Bury Museum and Sculpture Centre. In 2017 his edited collection of Pavel Büchler’s selected writings will be published by Ridinghouse (London) and his exhibitions will include ‘Hate Library’ at Foksal (Warsaw). Since 2006 he has been co-editor of the acclaimed publishing imprint Information As Material and since 2012 he has taught at the University of Leeds.
