Slow Boat Aria FREE

To mark the end of the summer and Slow Boat's return from its journey to London and back again we invite you to a special evening of performance.

Renowned Mezzo-Soprano Loré Lixenberg joins the Ikon Youth Programme and Chisenhale Gallery's youth group Propeller in the premiere of a compelling new work written for and by Slow Boat in collaboration with artist and musician Sam Belinfante.

Drawing on a mixture of found and made sounds, gathered by the group whilst on-board the boat this summer, the work offers a rich musical score that maps the vessel's entire journey as it meandered to and from the capital. Presented as a series of musical movements Slow Boat Aria will be interspersed with influential works by the late John Cage, who would be celebrating his centenary this year.
