Birmingham Repertory Theatre Company presents

360 Degrees

Part of GENERATION

What are the turning points in our lives? What makes us who we are?

We asked six writers to respond creatively to these questions. The result is a selection of short plays for one performer which focus on a pivotal moment in a young person's life: providing a 360 degree view of the future generation.

17 & 20 March - Polar Bear and Jenny On The Block (double bill) Polar Bear By Mark Schultz

Stuart is 16 and bright. If he had to be any kind of animal, he'd be a cheetah. If he spent most of his time cleaning out swimming pools in his neighbourhood, would his Mom finally notice?

Jenny On The Block By Claire Dowie

Jenny likes Beyonce, J-Lo and the Pussycat Dolls and she loves dancing. But she also likes her coat. And no-one - not even her Mum, is going to get her to take that off...

18 & 22 March

Undercarriage and Fatherhood (double bill)

Undercarriage By David Watson

Steph is 15 and from Solihull. Walking home tnear the airport she sees a man fall from the sky. Does she save him or does he save her?

Fatherhood By Cheryl Akila Payne

Mark is 15 and in love with Nicole. All the adults in his life are putting pressure on them to separate but Mark feels he is old enough to make his own decisions. Is wagging school and running away really a solution to their problems?

19 & 22 March

Rubina and Lemon Drops (double bill)

Rubina By Amber Lone

Rubina is waiting for the train that will take her away from home - maybe for good. Once her friend, Rucky, was seen as 'the bad girl'. Now Rubina is in trouble and maybe Rucky is the only one who can help her.

Lemon Drops By Jack Thorne

So how exactly do you lose your virginity in a wheelchair?

Some of these productions contain strong language.
