The Playhouse Project

Source https://www.birmingham-rep.co.uk/whats-on/the-playhouse-project.html

Playhouse gives primary school teachers and youth theatre directors the opportunity to direct specially commissioned plays by leading playwrights, with professional support from Birmingham Repertory Theatre.

The plays are specifically written for primary school aged casts and the teachers/directors have all taken part in a weekend retreat delivered by the four partnership theatres that developed their directing skills and allowed them to work with the plays' writers.

The Playhouse Project is a national scheme that also runs at Plymouth Theatre Royal, Bristol Old Vic, Polka Theatre in London and York Theatre Royal.
