A swift way to learn more about the life changing, lifesaving, life sciences research taking place across our campus and beyond. In this exciting event held at the Birmingham Repertory Theatre and introduced by Michele Paduano, BBC’s Midlands Today’s Health Correspondent, you will discover what ‘life sciences’ includes and how this research affects you, the local community and the rest of the world.

You will be taken on a journey of discovery, through six snappy presentations that will highlight the innovative research being undertaken at the University and unearth answers to the following questions:

What are we doing to close the gap on mental health treatment? What can viruses teach us about cancer treatment? How can light-activated technology be used to treat diabetes? How can sugar be used to treat burns? How can genome sequencing help us tackle Ebola and Zika? How can we optimise exercise to improve brain health?
