Chamberlain Square to the Bull Ring
Conducted by local author and photographer Jonathan Berg our walk takes us to some of the city’s most historic areas. We gain an understanding of the city’s origins as well as the way it is currently redeveloping itself for the future.
Included on the walk are the Museum & Art Gallery, St Philip’s Square, the Bull Ring & St Martins and Grand Central along with plenty of surprises. We have an emphasis on understanding the public artworks all around us and hear of the exploits of Sir Edward Burne-Jones. Birmingham’s most famous Victorian painter who, during his colourful life, observed Birmingham put huge efforts into improving itself. We start on the Museum & Art Gallery steps in Chamberlain Square. The walk takes around 1 ¾ hours and ends back at the Museum by the Edwardian Tea Rooms. Tours may use an audio system and if so you can bring your own earphones or purchase a pair for £1 at the start of the tour. We support Sifa Fireside who work on acute and longer term homeless issues in Birmingham.
