In the Footsteps of Sir Edward Burne-Jones
Our walk takes us to some of the city’s most historic buildings and we gain an understanding of the city’s origins. The latest 21st century developments are explained and we hear what is around the corner in this city of continuous change.
Included on the walk are the Museum & Art Gallery, St Philip’s Square, the Bullring & St Martins and Grand Central along with plenty of surprises. We hear of the exploits of Sir Edward Burne-Jones, Birmingham’s most famous painter who, during his colourful life, observed Birmingham put huge efforts into improving itself.
This 1 3/4 hour walk starts and ends at the Museum & Art Gallery in Chamberlain Square. A copy of the book Positively Birmingham which takes the exploration further is available in the Museum Shop at just £12 (normal price £20). Tours may use an audio system and if so you can bring your own earphones or purchase a pair for £1 at the start of the tour.
Book adult tickets (£10-60) from the website with child tickets (£5; 6-16 years) payable at the tour start.
We support Sifa Fireside who work on acute and longer term homeless issues in Birmingham with at least 10% of all sales going to their work. Donations are clearly stated on our website.
