Principal Teaching Fellow in Film Studies at the University of Warwick, Jose Arroyo will introduce 'Grey Gardens', a high camp masterpiece. The film follows the lives of Edith Bouvier Beale and her daughter ‘Little Edie’ (cousin of Jackie O), American aristocrats fallen on hard times and living in a dilapidated mansion in the East Hamptons, surrounded by cats and racoons, and obsessively squabbling with each other about what might have been. Camp’s movement from subculture to mainstream culture will be the subject of the discussion.
