Edouard Lock, founder of La La La Human Steps, is a visionary who re-defined dance as we know it. With a track record for producing some of the most startling, radical pieces of dance and a world class reputation to match, UK audiences will get to see his latest dance piece, Amjad, and a company which has made its name by breaking the rules.

Amjad is Lock’s interpretation of some of the great classical ballets but this is pointe shoes and ballet with a startling contemporary twist. Lock’s dancers seems to move faster than the speed of light as jumps and gestures snap through space, their bodies twisting both horizontally and vertically. All this accompanied by an on-stage quartet of piano and strings playing the music of Gavin Bryars, David Lang and Blake Hargreaves.
