Dance for Camera Introductory Workshop
Box office: 0870 730 1234
Monday 19 & Tuesday 20 May
10am - 4pm // DanceXchange // £35 for both days
A two-day beginner’s course for filmmakers and choreographers who are new to dance for camera, led by dance filmmaker Lucy Cash.
Dance for camera is a hybrid artform combining both choreography and filmmaking to make a new artistic creation. It is dance made specifically for the camera, for presentation as a single screen film or video and not a recording of a stage dance performance.
Working with Lucy, you will explore the basics of creating dance for camera through short practical and theoretical tasks, viewing examples and discussion. This is an opportunity for filmmakers and choreographers to work together collaboratively to share ideas, work as a team and begin to create dance for camera in a supportive environment. No previous experience is required.
South East Dance is the lead organisation for dance for camera in the UK and this year celebrates ten years of commissioning, producing and distributing dance for camera. We have an outstanding international reputation and our films are groundbreaking and win awards. For more information and to view our films visit: www.southeastdance.org.uk
Please note: you must be able to attend for both days, this workshop is offered on a first come first served basis, places are limited and booking is essential.
