Remembrance of Things Past

The main work in this programme is David Bedford’s second symphony, performed tonight to celebrate the life and music of this fine English composer who died last year; his ingenious, witty and challenging works for wind orchestra are enjoyed worldwide.

The programme also features music by American and British composers, demonstrating a great variety of vivid and expressive wind writing and all composed in celebration and remembrance of things past.
