However, Hamlet knows the terrible truth that Claudius has killed his father and so he must seek revenge.

Possibly the most famous play of all time, the Solihull Society of Arts adds a spice of 2012 to Shakespeare's play about madness, revenge and family. With music from Alex Turner, Birdy, Nirvana and Radiohead, expect something a bit different this summer to the great Danish tragedy.

Directed by Thom Faulkner and Sarah Jones, starring Alderbrook Drama teacher Steve Eagles as Hamlet, Simon King as Claudius and Chris Cooper as Polonius.

Transplanted to the townships of South Africa, this production provides a contemporary view of an enduring classic which has received critical acclaim the world over.

A national performance poetry project taking place in schools and youth groups across England from February to July 2012, inspired by the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Hundreds of 13 -16 year olds from five participating schools (Broadway, Holyhead, Stockland Green, Queensbridge and Woodrush High) are working with established spoken word artists to learn about poetry and performance throughout spring and summer. This slam competition, showcases the best of their writing and performance. The highest scoring team will go on to represent the West Midlands at the national Shake the Dust weekend in London from 5 - 8 July 2012. With performances by Jam Jah Sound System feat. Juggler and special guest judges Akala and Sic’Nis.

Since CUD split up in 1996 the band have variously appeared in Emmerdale, painted, written novels, DJ'd, managed other bands, collaborated in other musical projects, taken part in World Masters pursuit cycling races, drawn Sindy and Ninja Turtles comics and generally missed being in the band.

After a short return last year and as early 90's indie has a general resurgence whilst the world looks around for older rock heroes to worship in these days of personality-bypassed, jelly-moulded, radio-friendly blandness, the time is ripe for Leeds' favourite sons to rebound back onto the live scene one last time. Expect cardiac arrests, tears of joy, singalongs and frilly purple shirts!

Andris Nelsons feels a special kinship with Shostakovich’s music, so this performance promises to be one of the highlights of the season.

First, though, Bartók’s lyrical, life-affirming Concerto allows the CBSO’s Hungarian viola section leader Adam Römer to step into the spotlight, and Nelsons shows us a side of Dvořák we don’t usually hear: the brooding drama of his stormy Othello overture.

Some girls do it to build self confidence, some girls do it for expression, some do it just because they want to show the world they dont care who judges them for what they choose to do... Whatever the reason they are doing it, most of all they are doing it for you guys, the Audience, They do it for the cheers & the whistles and the happiness it can give... Part of that happiness is giving this to charity, every performer has waived their usual fees to support this.

His comedy has travelled as far as Shanghai, Dubai, Doha, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Phuket, France, Germany, Australia and Singapore. Dowdeswell has appeared in Ricky Gervais’ Extras, The World Stands Up, Edinburgh And Beyond on the Paramount Comedy Channel. This year he has starred in Chaos - a TV sketch show pilot, Rekindle – a short film, and is currently filming his own comedy show about wine called “James Dowdeswell – Black Belt In Wine.”
