Fashion designer, composer and drummer Jojo Remeny proudly presents Crossing Boundaries – a unique and unforgettable night of music, theatre, fashion and dance combined. Alongside the world premiere of Remeny’s Bombay is Weeping, performed by his Symphony Orchestra, a showcase of handbag and accessories designs will be presented by designers Lei Chee and Funky Jewells.
Jojo Remeny is a former Birmingham Conservatoire composition student, and also a student of the late Indian composer, John Mayer. Remeny’s first symphony is dedicated to Mayer and to Bombay, where he lived for one year, and is a fusion of Western Classical, Jazz, and Indian music. The symphony accompanied a distinctive fashion show playing music from Remeny’s album with models and dancers drawn from Birmingham’s dance academies. Playwright Stephen Moran opens the show with a specifically commissioned theatre piece led by actors and stage talent from across the city. Proceeds of ticket sales will go to St Mary’s Hospice.
