Since moving to Birmingham in the 1980s, the Barbadian poet, playwright, director and editor Don Kinch has established himself as one of the leading innovators in the city's theatre scene. His new play, premiered at The Drum, is a moving tale set in Lozells and Jamaica in which Marisol, a mixed heritage woman born in England, gives up her well-paid corporate executive job to have a child with a Caribbean man.
