JAKE BUGG

Jake Bugg started his musical adventure young. Aged 12 he began playing and singing, aged 14 he penned his first song and now 17 he has been invited to play Glastonbury. This young singer/songwriter from Nottingham although young is already producing music way beyond his years. Influenced by the likes of Donovan, Don Mclean, Bob Dylan, The Beatles and Jimi Hendrix.

LIZ LAWRENCE

Liz was described by Tom Robinson on his BBC 6 introducing show as 'amazing'.

'fantastically engaging live, with a maturity way beyond her years, the timbre of her voice glides right over you'.

'Liz Lawrence is all eye-dusting fringe and marching on the spot stance. It would be unfair to cast her acoustic guitar accompaniment in the role of lead weight, but there's a verve to the performance vivaciousness in the 'woo-oo-ooing'. The sprite-pop production values of Emiliana Torrini spring to mind. Throughout, she's accentuating the positive in tone, if not in lyric. Quite right; studied melancholy is ten-a-penny in this field. Ms Lawrence has the potential to be a fresh breeze sweeping through a stale form.' Julian Owen, Venue Magazine

OH STOCKHOLM!

Michael used to make noisy electro pop but his ears started to hurt and he got bored, so he decided to pick up his acoustic guitar and write some folk songs instead and Oh Stockholm! was born. After a while of playing sad songs on his own to people who didn't want to listen, he was joined by Anna who played violin and sang along and Oh Stockholm! got better...

Before Anna joined, Michael recorded an album in his bedroom. If you're interested, you can have it for free and you can find it here- http://www.mediafire.com/?gynecjmmmly

He also recorded some videos in the Peace Gardens in Birmingham. This one's 'Blue Skies Are Coming' and you can find the rest on youtube.

Every Wednesday Birmingham Promoters bring you an evening of eclectic music.
