The award winning author Alex Wheatle MBE presents his moving autobiographical story of how he became a writer. From the brutality of children’s homes to being on the ‘Frontline’ in riot-torn Brixton and sharing a prison cell with a fierce Rasta-man, Alex takes audiences on a journey through Britain in the 1980s. A journey punctuated by the muscular singing of lyrics that made him the famous ‘Yardman Irie’ of the Brixton club scene.
