Deborah Shelley's world is torn apart when her husband Neil is diagnosed with a terminal illness but there is even worse to come. Neil wants her to help him end his life. Deborah refuses him twice, frightened and furious but also plagued by doubts: did I refuse because I loved him or because I didn't love him enough? The third time Neil asks she reluctantly consents.
