A lecture presented by Professor Robin Martin part of the Work & Organisational Psychology Group
The quality of the relationship between the manager and his/her followers is a major determinant of the experience of work. If the relationship with the manager is good, then followers feel satisfied and work effectively but if the relationship with the manager is bad, then followers are often unhappy and work poorly. This research examines what determines the quality of the relationship we have with our manager, how this relationship develops, how it changes over time, what happens when you have a good or bad relationship with your manager – and how you can improve your relationship with your manager.
