What can you expect?

What is an unconference? An unconference is an unscheduled, informal event, which means that there won’t be a full speaker schedule published beforehand. The sessions don't have to be typical talks though. There could be group discussions, project brainstorms or yoga sessions! We don't know everything that will happen on the day, but one thing is for sure: Both podcasts will be recording some live material at some point. We also have goodies from Viglen and Canonical to give away during the day.

What will the talks be about? We don't really know! You – the attendees of this event – can turn up and volunteer a talk about anything you want! We would love talks about open source projects you're working on, tales of FLOSS in the Real World, hardware hacking, security, community computing, and creative projects using open source methods. We’re not just expecting geeky talks about obscure programming languages, so get your thinking caps on and see if you can come up with something a bit different! Can you give us a hitch-hiker's guide to Wolverhampton? Or tell us the history of Bletchley Park? Or try to design an un-pickable lock? Check out the Speakers page for more information.

Why OggCamp? We liked the name. :) The “Ogg” bit reflects the free software Ogg file format in which the Ubuntu UK Podcast and Linux Outlaws are both distributed. The “Camp” bit reflects the informal barcamp atmosphere we hope the event will have.
