The Dodos superbly combine their exotic syncopations with a joyously taut indie-rock that suggests The Violent Femmes or Clinic. The lyrics are a mix of emotional candor and references to Roxy Music. The latter’s Brian Eno combined with David Byrne for the key Afro-influenced LP My Life in the Bush of Ghosts. Infectious, propulsive, unselfconcious
