Building on the success of last year’s event, Coolies of the Caribbean Part II, seeks to tell the full Caribbean story by revealing the hidden history of the forced migration of over a million Indians to the Caribbean and other parts of the Empire. Hosted by Mauritian born Shirin Housee from Wolverhampton University, the event will trace family stories of epic voyages from India to the Caribbean, to the streets of Britain, from a women’s perspective. Guests include Gail Blissett (Trinidad), Yvette John (Grenada) Gemma Ingram (Trinidad) and Professor Heidi Mirza.

The in-conversation is followed by an after party with special Caribbean Indian cuisine and live performances, featuring SW Storm from Trinidad and DJ’s from "Dubtronics Soundsystem".
