Henry Fairs performs Messiaens complete works for organ during 2008, in a series of Sunday afternoon recitals.
The centenary of the birth of Olivier Messiaen (1908-92) is celebrated by a performance of his complete works for organ. University Organist Henry Fairs presents this deeply-felt music in a series of six Sunday afternoon recitals on the renovated organ by Hill, Norman and Beard in the University Great Hall. A rare treat, indeed.
Tickets for each concert: £9, £4 Friends/concessions, £2 students, available from the Barber Institute of Fine Arts (0121 414 7333). A season ticket for ALL SIX concerts is available at £30 (£20 Friends/concessions).
NB: All concerts begin at 3pm in the University Great Hall.
