An Audience With Martin Bell
Box office: 0121 704 6962
As a distinguished foreign affairs reporter Martin Bell was the definitive 'war correspondent' reporting from 80 countries during 11 conflicts winning many Journalism awards along the way.
Just prior to the 1997 General Election he announced he was leaving the BBC to enter politics and won the safe Tory seat of Tatton fighting an anti-sleaze campaign as an independent MP, the first for 50 years.
Now an ambassador for UNICEF and an outspoken critic of journalism today, he descibes himself as "too old" for both journalism and politics. Hear his stories, opinions and ask a question at this fascinating daytime event.
