BEAST & Ensemble Ars Nova
Box office: 0121 331 5909
Integra 2008 brings to Birmingham five leading contemporary music ensembles in an exciting programme of new works and existing repertoire with live electronics, with a special focus on mixed media performances.
A concert of live electronics and acousmatic music showcasing BEAST, Jonty Harrison's renowned electroacoustic studios at Birmingham University, and including Kees Tazelaar's 8-channel reconstruction of Poème Électronique by Varèse/Xenakis. Natasha Barrett, a former BEAST student who was recently awarded the Nordic Council Music Prize, presents Crack, an intense, sparkling piece for an unusual instrumental trio and electronics triggered by sensors on the percussionist's body.
