Dance for camera is a fusion artform combining both choreography and filmmaking to make a new artistic creation. The Dance for Camera Project is brought to you by DanceXchange, and is a featured event as part the International Dance Festival Birmingham (28th April-25thMay 08)
The Dance for Camera Project aims to increase dance artists’, choreographers’ and student filmmakers’ knowledge of dance for camera and to deepen their understanding of British and international dance film practice through a panel discussion, practical workshop and screenings.

The Dance for Camera panel discussion is aimed at dance artists, choreographers, filmmakers and those wanted to know more about this unique artform. The panel will include a mix of internationally regarded artists, filmmakers and industry specialists. Over coffee and croissants, this lively and informative discussion will look at definitions, current trends, how to get started and opportunities. The panel promises to be motivating for those already working in Dance for Camera and stimulating for those just starting out.
