Norma Waterson & Martin Carthy
plus Sian James
There can be no-one who doesn't know and love this couple - both legends in the folk world. Martin is regarded as one of the finest singers and interpreters of the traditional music of the British Isles as well as a highly influential, innovative, intelligent and much imitated guitar player. At times, he has almost single-handedly championed English folk song, an achievement recognised with his having been awarded an MBE for services to English folk music. Combine all this with Norma's wonderful and powerful voice - MOJO in 1995 declared her as 'possibly the greatest English singer alive today' - and you can't go wrong.
